I-F
For our first party of 2008 Bleep43 extends a warm welcome to a DJ we consider to be one of the best in the world. Once called “the most influential man in European Dance Music”, Ferenc van der Sluijs aka I-F has been DJing for over 2 decades. Not only a part of legendary acid pioneers Unit Moebius, he kickstarted the rebirth of European electro with the single “Space Invaders are Smoking Grass”, single-handedly instigated the revival of Italo-Disco with the “Mixed Up in the Hague” Mix CD and is a central figure in the healthy Den Haag scene as the nerve centre of the Cybernetic Broadcasting System.

DJ Stingray
A fan of 80’s hiphop and the italo sounds that played such an important part in the genesis of Detroit Techno, DJ Stingray has made his name as a close associate of much-missed Drexciya. With a reputation for fearsome electro sets, he also records under the moniker Urban Tribe, releasing records on labels as varied as Rephlex, Planet E and Mo’Wax, and recording with Motor City illuminati KDJ, Anthony Shakir and Carl Craig.

Kevin Reynolds
Detroit’s Kevin Reynolds has made a noticeable impact with his Afrik single released on his own label Todchai in 2006. Having worked with Derrick May at Transmat and collaborated on a One World special with Gilles Peterson, Kevin has garnered plaudits from many in the Detroit House scene, and we’re looking forward to showcasing his debut live performance in the UK.

Orphan
Fresh from a live performance at the BLOC weekend, Orphan will showcase her idiosyncratic take on electro and techno.
Placid
Something of a legend in underground acid circles, Bristol’s Placid plays at Bleep43 for the first time. With a record collection that is bordering on the obscene, we’re looking forward to 3 hours of a mixture of acid, techno, house and disco.
