Join us under the towering eaves and natural light of Jacksons Lane’s glorious Studio 1 space for an evening of horizontal deep listening and electronic world building to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Bleep43 events.

We’re very pleased to present the London debut of Stephen James Buckley’s Polypores project. His releases on a wealth of labels including Concrete Tapes, DiN, Golden Ratio Frequencies and Polytechnic Youth (to name just a few) each show different facets of his meticulous and simultaneously abstract yet musical approach to synthesis. A number of us were first introduced to his absorbing multi-level sound worlds via his Flora LP on Castles In Space and his superb Terrain tape on Frequency Domain. We can’t wait to hear his performance for us at Jacksons Lane.

Longtime Bleep43 crew member Bea Brennan will perform a set specially composed for the quadraphonic sound system that we’re installing for this event. As amply demonstrated on her mesmeric release for Anthony Child and Dan Bean’s Old Technology label, Bea is adept at harnessing, reversing, stopping and twisting time through repetition and variation in rhythm and tone.

In almost 40 years of music making Jo Johnson has explored psychedelia, punk, noise, electronic experimentation and improvisation, with acclaimed solo recordings for Further Records, Going In (The Bunker New York’s sub-label), Apartment, Frequency Domain, and, most recently, Verdant. Threading through all of her creations, whatever the genres, instruments or techniques at hand, has been her ability to express compelling emotional nuance and vulnerability. We’re looking forward to experiencing her performance a great deal.

This event also sees the return of The Transcendence Orchestra to Bleep43, following a devastating show for us in 2019 at The Crypt. This time Anthony Child and Dan Bean are joined by fellow sonic adventurer Paddy Shine of GNOD for a fully improvised set of drones, off-centre loops and mystic connections to other worlds.

Frequency Domain’s Ali Wade will guide us between the performances with his selection of deep listening tracks and guidance tones.

For your comfort there will be a limited number of floor mats so you can enjoy the performances from a horizontal perspective. We encourage you to bring your own mats and cushions if you’d like to lie down and chairs are available if not. Jacksons Lane is also a fully wheelchair accessible venue.

We’ll have merchandise for sale during the event, including releases from our guest artists, Bleep43 crew, including Jo Johnson and Plant43, and releases on Frequency Domain and its sub labels.

The bar at Jacksons Lane will be open before and during the event, please do not bring your own drinks.
