Franz Falckenhaus - The Europa Judgement Review
Franz Falckenhaus - The Europa Judgment (Strange Life)
It’s difficult to think of anyone in electronic music that has carved out such a singular niche as Danny Wolfers. Prolific, humorous, jacking and downright strange, he has built up a huge back catalogue of quite remarkable releases that populate the curious worlds he creates. As part of his Strange Life label, one of his many monikers Franz Falckenhaus is given to Carpenter/Goblin-esque eerie synthscapes that inhabit what appears to be a mid-70’s mitteleuropa replete with spies, covert activity and trams clattering through Prague. Following on from “My Cold War”, this is soundtrack work, rather than strong direct tracks, but it’s not weaker for it, as the wonderful “Falckenhaus Cosmic Dance” demonstrates. In fact it might very well be the soundtrack to a darker, twisted version of Herge’s The Calculus Affair.
